Who does it cater for ?
The GRO was created for people who relish a challenge, have an interest in classic cars and yet have a wider perspective of life beyond their motorcars. They wish to experience other countries and cultures. To do this, they require a daily schedule that will allow them time to enjoy the sights and interact with the local population.

As the areas visited are off the beaten track, our rallies probably suit those people who have always promised themselves a sabbatical or are recently retired. Most likely they wish to experience an “adventure” in their classic backed by the security and company of like-minded people.

However, whilst the adventure will be real, no-one should feel intimidated by any lack of experience. On the London – Sydney Friendship Rally in 2005, we had 5 crews out of a total of 15 who were first timers and they all made it without any more difficulty than the experienced drivers. We particularly want the driver’s partner to feel comfortable and reassured from the start concerning back-up, security and support in the event of an accident. It is important that on our return, no-one should consider that the itinerary was so tough that it affected the overall enjoyment.

For those who are concerned about their mechanical ability, our routes are chosen to be user-friendly. However, before departure, we would expect you to master a routine daily car check so that our service engineer can concentrate on specific faults.
